Stonewall Farm is a 200-year-old working organic dairy farm and maple producer. Located on the outskirts of the City of Keene, it is the last operating dairy farm located within the city limits. Incorporated as a nonprofit entity 27 years ago, Stonewall Farm’s mission is to connect people to the land and educate them about agriculture and food systems. The 120+ acre farm is open to the public year-round free of charge, and features a network of hiking and biking trails and many other areas to explore. Stonewall Farm taps 1200 trees annually, and during sugaring season encourages visitors to stop in at the sugar house to visit with Farm Manager Glenn Yardley to learn more about making maple syrups. Visitors are also encouraged to visit the dairy barn to meet our mixed herd of Holstein and brown Swiss cows; it is one of only a handful of dairy barns that is open to the public.

Maple Month 2017

On Saturday, March 25th Stonewall Farm will hold its 18th Annual Sap Gathering Contest! We encourage the public to join us in watching teams of draught horses compete to collect sap from the woods in a timed contest emphasizing agility, skill and accuracy. As many as 20 teams from around New England will compete. Throughout the day there will be sap boiling demonstrations in the sugar house, opportunities to visit our horse, dairy and small animal barns, hayrides, food and more! Admission to the grounds is $5 per person, with children under 5 admitted free of charge. The grounds of the farm are open to the public year-round from sun-up to sun-down, so visitors stopping by during Maple Months will likely find Farm Manager Glenn Yardley in the sugarhouse demonstrating the old-fashioned way of making syrup!
