NH Maple Museum Planned | ||||

The New Hampshire Maple Producers Association has received a gift of what may be the largest collection of antique maple tools and equipment in the United States. This assortment was donated to the association by a member who has been collecting maple artifacts for many years. Some of these items are 200-300 years old. Members of the Association are actively searching for a suitable fire-safe building in which to house and exhibit this collection, preferably in the White Mountain region of the state. The non-profit organization is appealing to the public for help with funding. "We are currently asking for monetary donations to help us accomplish our objective of opening a maple museum," William Eva, president of the association said. "We greatly appreciate this gift and want to display it for the benefit of everyone who has an interest in learning about the history of maple sugaring. To do this, we must have a location and funding. Some donations have already been received, but we will need much more." In an effort to raise awareness of the project, a portion of this collection was on exhibit at the Farm and Forest Exposition in Manchester in early February, and plans are being made for more displays throughout the state this year. Tax deductible donations for the museum can be sent to: c/o Ag Business Center 295 Sheep Davis Rd, Concord, NH 03301 Make Checks Payable To: NH Maple Museum, Inc. Thank You!
